David is a Senior Research Fellow at MUARC. With a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, he has several years consulting experience in vehicle safety, vibration analysis and acoustics and noise control. Joining MUARC in 2001, David’s current research areas include road safety strategy modelling and implementation; and the effectiveness of advanced driver assistance technologies, including semi- and fully autonomous vehicles. He managed MUARC’s multidisciplinary real-world crash investigation team for 10 years. David also conducts investigations of passenger vehicle and heavy vehicle incidents to understand vehicle crashworthiness and crash contributing factors in a Safe System context.
